Educational Programs

The Monterey Zoo offers a variety of educational presentations that can be enjoyed at our facility, and some that can be brought to your school or event. Presentations done at the zoo include a far greater number of animals. These are fun, safe, and educational lectures and demonstrations that can be tailored to different age groups. Choose from the following:

My Pet Tiger is a realistic look at exotic animals as pets – from pet store birds and reptiles to lions, tigers, bears and elephants. Do they really make good pets?

My Backyard is a close look at animals native to North America. This presentation focuses on what we can do to co-exist with our animal neighbors.

Around the World is your chance to take a trip through several countries by meeting some of the animals indigenous to those countries. Learn how they adapt to their different environments and what we all can do to help assure the survival of those animals with conservation.

Discover the Rainforest focuses on unusual creatures from rainforests around the globe. Discover the uniqueness of these habitats and how we can help protect preserve them.

Elephant Encounter is an interactive and fun event that focuses on the largest land mammal on the planet. Get up close and personal with these magnificent creatures. These presentations must be done at the Monterey Zoo.
